What do you love about teaching at Holy Trinity?
I always wanted to teach, so this has been a dream come true. I really like the comradery of the faculty and staff at Holy Trinity and the connectedness between students and teachers. It feels like everyone on campus is part of the same family.
What motivated you to become a teacher?
There were a few things that motivated me to become a teacher. I became a teacher because I always like helping other people. I was also very interested in social sciences. With those two thing, I felt like teaching was the best route for me to take.
What experiences or people have had the most influence on you?
I think my family and teachers had the largest influence on me. My family was always there pushing me to be the best student and athlete at the time. I realized I wanted to be a teacher because of my eighth grade history teacher. He did a lot of hands-on activities that really helped me find a love for social sciences.
How do you keep current with the subject areas you cover?
I keep current in world geography by reading journals, joining Social Studies groups, and watching current documentaries in my subject area.
What are some of your interests and passions outside the classroom?
Outside the classroom I like listening to music, geocaching, disc golfing, archery, and fishing. I pretty much enjoy anything outside.
How do you feel you can help students to “Start Here. Go Anywhere.”?
I feel like I can help them gain a base knowledge about social sciences, which will hopefully grow into an interest for the social sciences.
